Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality launches women's urban gardens

Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Serra Bucak visited the Women's Commune Urban Gardens to support female producers and local ecological initiatives. The project, led by the Women's Policies Department, aims to strengthen the female economy, preserve local seeds, and encourage ecological production.

Located in the Talaytepe neighborhood of the Kayapınar district, the gardens facilitate the cultivation of vegetables as well as medicinal and aromatic plants. While the initial harvest is used for domestic needs, the participating women aim to expand production and play a more active role in the urban economy through the technical expertise gained during the process.
