Diyarbakır police target cybercrime network threatening families
Turkish authorities have launched operations against a cybercrime network operating under the codenames ‘C47’ and ‘C99’. The group utilized illegal inquiry panels to conduct cyberbullying, blackmail, and harassment through closed digital groups.
Following an operation across eight provinces centered in Diyarbakır, ten suspects were detained. Two individuals have been arrested on charges including threat, unlawful acquisition of personal data, and fraudulent theft of documents related to state security. The investigation revealed that the network targeted the families of Rojin Kabaiş, Hiranur Nilgün Aygar, and Kıvanç Uman.
Despite the arrests, Nizamettin Kabaiş, the father of Rojin Kabaiş, reported receiving new death threats via WhatsApp and BiP. The messages included photos of weapons and demands to withdraw his legal complaints, with one message stating, ‘If you don’t withdraw your complaint, you will go to Rojin.’ Kabaiş has sought police protection, expressing fear for his children's safety.
