Diyarbakır prepares for tourism boost from Amedspor's Süper Lig matches

Diyarbakır is preparing for a surge in tourism driven by Amedspor’s participation in the Süper Lig. The football club is set to host 17 home matches, which local officials expect will attract visiting teams and fans from various cities.

Serdar Baturay, President of the Mesopotamia Regional Representative Board of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB), stated that the influx of visitors will provide a significant boost to the city’s gastronomy, history, and cultural heritage. Local businesses, including hotels, restaurants, and travel agencies, are currently making preparations to accommodate the expected increase in travelers.

Beyond sports, visitors are expected to explore Diyarbakır’s historical sites, such as the UNESCO World Heritage walls, the İçkale Museum Complex, the Ulu Mosque, and various historic churches and inns.
