Diyarbakır scammers arrested after stealing 1.2kg of gold

Police in Diyarbakır have arrested individuals who impersonated law enforcement officers to defraud a 70-year-old woman. The suspects gained the victim's trust by reciting detailed personal information about her family members, including specific workplaces and past personal history.

Using this information, the scammers convinced the woman that they were conducting an operation involving her lost identity from 2017. Under this pretense, the victim handed over 1.2 kilograms of gold directly to the suspects. The fraud was discovered by the victim's niece, a healthcare worker, after noticing unusual phone activity. While the suspects are in custody, authorities are continuing their investigation to recover the stolen gold.
