Diyarbakır students face facility shortages after school relocation

Students at Vali Aydın Arslan Fen Lisesi in Diyarbakır's Sur district are facing educational difficulties following their relocation. The school was slated for structural reinforcement following inspections conducted after the February 6 earthquakes.

As a result of the planned construction, 490 students were moved to the Social Sciences High School building in the Kayapınar district. Parents have expressed significant dissatisfaction, claiming the relocation occurred before necessary infrastructure was prepared. Reported deficiencies at the new site include a lack of laboratories, libraries, dining halls, and smart boards, which parents argue are essential for a science high school curriculum.

In addition to physical facility concerns, parents have raised issues regarding administrative instability, noting that the school has seen three different principals within the last three years.
