Turkey reports multiple crimes including femicide and fraud

Turkey has seen several distinct criminal incidents involving fraud and violence. In Diyarbakır, Sultan Akdemir was fatally shot by her estranged husband, Ersan Akdemir, in a park despite existing protection orders. Women's rights organizations held protests at the scene, demanding better protection for women and an end to impunity for such crimes.

In Eskişehir, a group of fraudsters impersonating police and prosecutors attempted to rob an 81-year-old man of his gold. The scheme was thwarted when the man's 8-year-old grandson interrupted the encounter, causing the female suspect to flee the residence.

In Çerkezköy, a bank employee prevented a $7,000 fraud attempt against a 72-year-old retiree. The victim had been told by scammers posing as police that his money was at risk from a terrorist organization. Following the employee's alert, police intercepted a courier attempting to collect the funds.

Other reported crimes include a theft of 100,000 TL in İzmir, where a man dropped a bag of cash and it was stolen by a motorcyclist, and a theft of goods valued at 100,000 TL in Eskişehir.
