Diyarbakır's Dicle District Seizes 3,527 Cannabis Plants in First Half of 2026
Turkish authorities in Dicle, a district of Diyarbakır Province, reported that between 1 January and 30 June 2026 they inspected 1,112 vehicles, confiscating 3,527 cannabis plants and eight unlicensed firearms. The operation also included checks on 585 motorcycles (13 seized), 129 commercial taxis and 398 school buses, resulting in six legal actions against school‑bus operators. During the same period the district recorded 23 traffic accidents involving 40 injuries, a 22 % rise compared with the first half of 2025. Four drug‑related raids led to three arrests, ten persons placed under judicial control, and the seizure of 19 g of other narcotics. Overall, 63 individuals were detained, 385 public‑safety reports were logged and seven KADES alerts were received, with average response times of eight minutes for alerts and ten minutes 30 seconds for general reports.
