Diyarbakır’s Sur District and Sivas Advance Tourism Revitalization Plans

The Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DTİO) issued a statement supporting the municipal initiatives in Sur to restore historic streets, improve public spaces and regulate street‑vendor activity. The chamber highlighted the need for “joint wisdom” and emphasized that Sur’s cultural heritage is a shared legacy that must be preserved while supporting local merchants and tourism revenue.

In Sivas, Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy chaired a wide‑participation meeting with party leaders, MPs, the governor, the mayor and local officials to draft a roadmap for the city’s tourism potential. The discussion covered cultural tourism, gastronomy, sustainable destination management and investment, with Ersoy pledging continued effort to raise Sivas’s profile in the tourism market.
