DJ Alle Farben headlines Bayreuth Wagner Festival 150th anniversary

DJ Alle Farben, whose real name is Frans Zimmer, performed a two‑hour set at the Bayreuth Festspielhaus as part of the 150th anniversary of the Richard Wagner Festival. About 1,700 attendees were allowed to dance on the stage area behind the orchestra pit, a departure from the usual seated opera audience. Festival director Katharina Wagner welcomed the DJ, saying the event was meant to spark curiosity about the historic house and Wagner’s music. Alle Farben noted, “und ich darf heute etwas Neues machen,” highlighting the novelty of a club‑style performance in a venue that has hosted Wagner’s works for a century and a half. The Wagner Festival is one of the world’s most renowned opera festivals, originally founded by Wagner 150 years ago.
