DJ Felix Jaehn discusses past alcohol use and mental health struggles

DJ Felix Jaehn, who has also adopted the name Fee, has spoken openly about his past struggles with alcohol consumption and mental health. In an interview, the 32-year-old artist described using alcohol as a form of escape and compensation for the intense pressure of performing.

Jaehn revealed that prior to shows, he suffered from severe psychosomatic head and neck pain that often left him incapacitated for days. While adrenaline allowed him to perform effectively on stage, the period following performances often led to significant emotional lows. He noted that he eventually felt a perceived need to consume alcohol just to be able to perform.

Following a performance at the Tomorrowland festival in the summer of 2024, Jaehn sought professional help and entered a clinic. He has since undergone treatment in a clinic on three separate occasions. The artist, who identifies as non-binary, noted that the true extent of his pain only became clear after seeking professional assistance.
