DJ Ötzi and daughter ousted from ORF’s ‘Zauberhafte Weihnacht’, Melissa Naschenweng takes over

Austrian singer DJ Ötzi (Gerhard Friedle) has hosted the ORF Christmas music programme “Zauberhafte Weihnacht” since 2019, and last year co‑presented it with his 23‑year‑old daughter Lisa‑Marie Friedle. The broadcaster announced a presenter change: both will be replaced for the December edition by Austrian schlager singer Melissa Naschenweng, who will co‑host with German musician and TV moderator Dominik Glöbl. The show is a joint production of ORF and the Bavarian public broadcaster. The move ends a seven‑year run for DJ Ötzi and his daughter and follows earlier personnel swaps, such as Naschenweng previously being replaced by Friedle at the Hahnenkamm race. Reports suggest higher audience figures for Naschenweng influenced the decision. No official confirmation from the presenters has been released yet.
