Djavan Marks 50‑Year Career with New Biography 'Djavan – dizem que o amor atrai

Brazilian MPB legend Djavan, now 77, is celebrating five decades of music with the release of a biography titled "Djavan – dizem que o amor atrai." Authored by Tiago Ramos and Mattos and published by Trend Editora, the book is priced at R$ 54.90 and slated for release at the end of the month.

The volume traces Djavan’s upbringing in Maceió, his discovery of the guitar at age 16, and the African roots that shaped his sound. It also recounts lesser‑known episodes such as a near‑collaboration with Michael Jackson and the censorship he faced during Brazil’s military dictatorship. The biography coincides with his "Djavanear – 50 anos – Só sucessos" tour, which revisits his biggest hits across the country.
