Djene Dakonam substituted during Getafe match due to illness

Getafe captain and Togolese international defender Djene Dakonam was substituted in the 65th minute during a 1-0 victory against Malaga in the seventh round of the Spanish league.

Following concerns regarding his health, Getafe coach José Bordalas clarified that Dakonam was not injured but had been suffering from a fever and exhaustion after a poor night's sleep. Despite the physical setback, the coach indicated that Dakonam is expected to be available for Togo's upcoming CAN 2027 qualifying match against Burundi in Lomé.
