DJI and Yingshi exchange patent lawsuits in China as US cases are withdrawn

DJI and Chinese competitor Yingshi have withdrawn their respective patent suits from the U.S. District Court in Texas and are now focusing on multiple lawsuits filed in Chinese courts. DJI is set to appear before the Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court on August 3, while Yingshi has launched six counter‑suits across several Chinese cities and filed a request to invalidate DJI patents with the national IP office.

Both companies accuse each other of infringing a range of patents covering handheld gimbal technology, panoramic cameras, bullet‑time shooting, thermal management and storage solutions. The dispute follows earlier U.S. filings after Yingshi launched its Luna Ultra gimbal camera, and reflects a broader competition in the handheld smart‑camera market, where DJI holds about 65% share and Yingshi about 22%.
