DJI announces DJI Dock 4 with automatic battery exchange
DJI has announced the DJI Dock 4, its first drone-in-a-box solution capable of performing an automatic battery exchange in under 25 seconds. This feature significantly reduces downtime compared to previous generations, where drones required approximately 30 minutes of charging between flights. The system aims to enable rapid response for public safety, emergency services, infrastructure inspection, and security.
The Dock 4 is paired with the new Matrice 5TD enterprise drone, which offers a flight time of up to 59 minutes. The Matrice 5TD is equipped with advanced sensors, including 50-megapixel cameras, thermal imaging (1280 x 1024 resolution), rotating LiDAR, and radar for enhanced obstacle detection. It features capabilities such as 11x zoom, laser rangefinding up to 3 km, and full-color night vision.
Designed for harsh environments, the Dock 4 can operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 50°C, utilizing automated heating or cooling to maintain battery and drone health. The system also features improved communication stability through the DJI O4 ground station, allowing for operation in complex environments with high-rise buildings or dense infrastructure.
