DJI launches DJI Dock 4 and Matrice 5TD enterprise drone
DJI has introduced the DJI Dock 4, a “drone-in-a-box” system designed for continuous aerial monitoring. The system features an automated battery swap mechanism capable of replacing a depleted battery with a fresh one in 25 seconds, significantly reducing downtime compared to traditional recharging methods.
The Dock 4 is paired with the new Matrice 5TD enterprise drone, which is intended for use in public safety, emergency response, and infrastructure monitoring. The Matrice 5TD can reach speeds of 21 metres per second and offers flight times of up to 59 minutes.
Technical specifications for the Matrice 5TD include an 11x telephoto lens, an infrared camera for detecting heat anomalies, and full-colour night vision. It also features a 3-kilometre laser rangefinder and a “Fusion Mode” that overlays visible-light feeds with infrared data to provide comprehensive structural and thermal imaging.
