DJI Neo 3 leak reveals potential 1/1.1-inch square sensor

Leaked marketing materials for the upcoming DJI Neo 3 drone suggest a significant hardware upgrade over its predecessor, the Neo 2. According to information shared by tipster Igor Bogdanov, the Neo 3 is expected to feature a 1/1.1-inch square CMOS sensor, similar to the one used in the Osmo Action 6.

The square sensor design is intended to enable “true vertical shooting,” allowing users to capture portrait-oriented content at full resolution without needing to rotate the gimbal. Other leaked specifications include 2x lossless zoom, omnidirectional obstacle detection, and high-speed ActiveTrack with automatic camera movements.

Additional features mentioned include palm takeoff and landing, one-handed gesture control, and the SelfieShot 2.0 capability. The device is expected to weigh approximately 192.7 grams and may support the DJI RC Mini controller. While the leak details these sensor and flight capabilities, specific information regarding video resolution, bitrate, and flight time remains unconfirmed.
