DJI releases firmware update for Avata 360 drone

DJI has released firmware version v01.00.0800 for the Avata 360, introducing Waypoint Flight for the first time in the Avata product line. This feature allows pilots to plan flight routes using map points and associate them with points of interest to execute repeatable, automated camera movements.

The update also includes zoom capabilities within FocusTrack and support for the DJI RC Pro 2 controller. To ensure full functionality, the release includes accompanying firmware updates for various components, including the DJI RC Pro 2, Goggles N3, Goggles 3, and the DJI Fly and DJI Studio software applications.

Waypoint Flight is designed to assist aerial filmmakers in capturing consistent cinematic shots, such as repeatable approaches to a subject or scenic establishing shots, by reducing the reliance on purely manual stick inputs.
