Djibril Dièye, Senegalese AutoMag Host, Dies

Djibril Dièye, the well‑known presenter and producer of the automotive programme “AutoMag” on Télé Futurs Médias (TFM), died on Friday 6 August 2026 after a prolonged illness. The news was announced by Bouba Ndour, director of programmes at TFM, during the broadcast of “Jakaarloo”.

Dièye had been battling his condition for several years, which limited his on‑air activities and prompted a public fundraising effort to finance treatment abroad. Through “AutoMag”, he popularised automotive culture and road‑safety information for Senegalese viewers, earning respect from colleagues and car‑enthusiasts alike. His death has been widely mourned across the Senegalese media and automotive community.
