DJI's Osmo Pocket 4 Hits European Shelves While US Market Stalled by FCC and Lawsuits

DJI has launched its new Osmo Pocket 4 handheld camera worldwide, with the European release priced from €619. The device features a dual‑camera system that combines a 1‑inch main sensor with a 3× telephoto lens, supports 4K video at 240 fps and captures 37‑megapixel photos. It is now available in Europe, Canada and Australia.

In the United States the camera remains unavailable because the Federal Communications Commission has not granted authorization. The regulatory gap gives rival Chinese firm Insta360, owned by Arashi Vision Inc, a market advantage. DJI filed a patent‑infringement lawsuit against Insta360 in the Eastern District of Texas on June 10, seeking a permanent injunction, and Insta360 responded with a counter‑suit alleging DJI infringed its patents. The dispute highlights uneven U.S. restrictions on Chinese technology companies.
