DJKI promotes regional synergy for 2027 intellectual property program
The Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) is calling for increased synergy between central and regional offices to implement the 2027 Intellectual Property (IP) program. Director General Hermansyah Siregar emphasized the need to build a complete ecosystem in regions, covering everything from understanding and registration to protection and development to ensure sustainable economic value.
Regional programs are expected to be tailored to specific local characteristics, such as trademarks, copyrights, patents, industrial designs, and geographical indications. To support this, DJKI aims to strengthen IP centers within universities and research institutions to assist the public in commercializing high-quality products.
In a related effort to strengthen legal services and IP protection, the Tanjungpinang City Government has formalized a cooperation agreement with the Riau Islands Regional Office of the Ministry of Law. This collaboration focuses on harmonizing local legal products, establishing legal aid posts in villages, and protecting communal intellectual property, including local cultural heritage and culinary assets.
