Djrum joins the DJ-Kicks series with new mix CD

Felix Manuel, performing as Djrum, has released his first commercial mix CD as part of the renowned DJ-Kicks series. Known for a style that transcends traditional genre boundaries, Manuel’s work incorporates elements ranging from breakcore and IDM to jungle, techno, and field recordings.

The 82-minute mix features 32 tracks that transition rapidly between diverse moods, including orchestral breakcore, aquatic ambience, and drill’n’bass. While the set is noted for its technical skill and expansive taste, the rapid shifts from meditative calm to frenetic energy present a highly eclectic and potentially intimidating listening experience.
