DK46 bypass project advances for Herby and Blachownia
The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) has announced that an environmental decision has been issued for the new DK46 bypass, which will divert transit traffic away from the centers of Herby and Blachownia. The project is part of the government’s ‘Program for the Construction of 100 Bypasses’ and aims to improve connections with the A1 motorway.
The new route will primarily pass through forested areas, bypassing Herby, Pietrzaki, and Trzepizury from the north, and the Ostrowy district of Blachownia from the south. A tender using the ‘design and build’ system is expected to be announced later this year, with construction planned for the years 2029–2032. The initiative continues a program originally established in 2021.
