Port Polska infrastructure: Contractors appointed for airport access roads

Polish authorities have appointed contractors to develop approximately 90km of roads designed to connect the planned Port Polska airport (Centralny Port Komunikacyjny) with the A2 motorway and other national routes. The project aims to facilitate passenger and freight access from Warsaw while creating bypasses to separate transit traffic from local journeys.

Three contractor teams were selected for the works: a Mirbud and Kobylarnia consortium for the eastern access road, Strabag for the eastern bypass, and NDI for the northern and western bypasses. The total value of these road contracts exceeds PLN 1.3 billion (£250 million). Spanish engineering firm Ayesa Polska will serve as the contract engineer to oversee design and construction.

The road scheme is a component of the broader Port Polska development, a massive transport hub project expected to open in stages by 2032. This includes a new airport and high-speed rail links, such as the line connecting Warsaw and Łódź.
