DKSH CEO Stefan P. Butz outlines acquisition strategy

Stefan P. Butz, chief executive of Swiss market expansion specialist DKSH, said that roughly 80 % of the group’s acquisition spending over the past five years has been directed toward high‑margin sectors. Recent purchases such as Bosung in Korea, MedWorkz in Singapore, Biomedic, MDxK, Taqkey, Quantum Biotech and Acutest Systems are intended to strengthen DKSH’s technology unit and its health‑care business in the Asia‑Pacific region.

Butz highlighted that the strategy helped lift the adjusted net profit by 9.2 % (13.3 % on an ex‑currency basis) to CHF 105.2 million. Business development, especially commercial‑outsourcing partnerships – including a newly announced collaboration with Eli Lilly – remains the main growth driver, with a focus on pharma, biotechnology, medical‑technology and rare‑disease therapies.
