DLRG Oppenheim launches crowdfunding for rescue drone

The DLRG Oppenheim local group has launched a crowdfunding campaign to acquire a modern rescue drone equipped with a thermal imaging camera. The technology is intended to assist in searching for missing persons near bodies of water and monitoring flood zones, such as those along the Rhine, where rapid aerial reconnaissance is critical for assessing dikes and populated areas.

To fund the purchase, the organization is utilizing the ‘Viele schaffen mehr’ platform. The Volksbank Darmstadt Mainz eG has pledged to match every donation made to the project to encourage regional support.
