dm responds to menopause campaign controversy
The drugstore chain dm has responded to the controversy surrounding its menopause awareness campaign, titled ‘Menopause – It Deserves Understanding!’. The initiative, developed by WPP Media, aims to educate women about menopause and its less-known cognitive symptoms to combat social taboos.
The campaign sparked intense emotional debate following a television appearance on RTL Reggeli involving actress Dorka Gryllus. dm expressed regret that the discussion caused deep distress for some viewers but emphasized that the goal of all partners involved was to support a widespread issue affecting many women.
To continue the educational mission, dm plans to release more content featuring expert Mária Koch on social media, as well as dedicated educational resources on their website and in various online women's magazines. The company noted that supporting women's health, including addressing menstrual poverty and menstrual cycles, has been a long-standing priority.
