Medvedev urges Trump to use CIA against Zelenskyy
Dmitry Medvedev, the former Russian president and current deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, has called on U.S. President Donald Trump to intervene against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In a social media post, Medvedev suggested that Trump should instruct the U.S. Secretary of Defense and the Director of the CIA to “resolve” the issue regarding Zelenskyy, whom he characterized as a “problem.”
Medvedev’s remarks, which have been interpreted by various media outlets as an insinuation of physical elimination, follow a pattern of aggressive rhetoric from the Kremlin official. He accused Zelenskyy of acting against U.S. interests, insulting President Trump, and misappropriating Western aid. Medvedev also claimed that Kyiv’s actions increase the risk of nuclear confrontation between Russia and NATO.
Separately, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that a meeting between Russian and Ukrainian representatives is scheduled for November in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This meeting, mediated by the United States, aims to restart peace negotiations that have been at an impasse. Zelenskyy stated that while technical issues can be handled by working groups, matters regarding territory must be addressed at the leadership level between him and Vladimir Putin.
