DMK and TNCC engage in political dispute in Tamil Nadu

Political tensions have escalated in Tamil Nadu between the DMK and the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC). The DMK launched a verbal attack on TNCC president Manickam Tagore, labeling him a “slave of the ruling TVK” following his comments regarding the party's defeat in the general Assembly elections. The DMK accused Congress leaders of acting as “sleeper cells” and betraying the INDIA bloc alliance to pursue ministerial positions, stating they have no obligation to participate in the bloc's protests.

Separately, Manickam Tagore has criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the inauguration of the Tirumangalam-Kollam highway project. Tagore questioned the protocol of the event, noting he was not invited despite the project falling within his constituency, while BJP state president Nainar Nagenthran—who holds no elected office—was seated on stage with the Prime Minister. Tagore also accused the Prime Minister of attempting “Hindi imposition” during his speech at the Tamil Nadu event.
