Following its defeat in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) convened a meeting of all district secretaries at the Anna Arivalayam headquarters in Chennai. Chaired by party president and former chief minister M. K. Stalin, the gathering aimed to analyse the reasons for the loss, assess campaign shortcomings, and outline a re‑organisation strategy ahead of upcoming local body polls.

Stalin announced a field study in which senior cadres will tour the state and submit a report within 20 days, and a new website will be launched on May 15 to allow party members to submit feedback on the defeat. The party plans to strengthen social‑media outreach, youth participation, and district‑level coordination as part of its revitalisation effort.
