Dmytro Kuleba warns of ceiling on international aid for Ukraine
Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated that Kyiv has reached a ceiling regarding international assistance and sees little room for a significant increase in support from Western partners.
Kuleba noted that the current level of aid is unlikely to rise due to prolonged assistance cycles and growing political and economic challenges within supporting nations. He specifically highlighted a shift in sentiment in Washington, stating, “America has no desire to sponsor Ukraine.”
Furthermore, Kuleba warned that political turbulence in Europe and economic difficulties among leading Western allies are narrowing the space for additional financial and material aid. He advised that Kyiv must soberly assess the level of external support it can realistically expect in the coming period. He also cautioned that domestic dissatisfaction in Ukraine could intensify, potentially reaching a breaking point during the upcoming winter due to the country's ongoing situation.
