Děčín emergency services conduct large-scale railway accident drill
Emergency services in Děčín conducted a large-scale tactical exercise simulating a major railway accident. The drill involved a scenario where a passenger train derailed with four carriages, resulting in approximately 60 casualties, 30 of whom required transport to medical facilities.
The exercise tested the coordination of the Integrated Rescue System, involving ten fire protection units, four police patrols, several security guards, and multiple medical crews. German police also attended as guests. To manage the simulated crisis, the Mayor of Děčín convened a crisis staff, and an assistance center was established in a sports hall near the main railway station to provide food, water, and psychological care for uninjured passengers.
