dnata CEO identifies AI and shifting consumer trends as key travel drivers
Nabil Sultan Al Murr, the newly appointed CEO of dnata, has identified artificial intelligence and shifting consumer behaviors as the primary drivers of change in the Middle East travel sector. Speaking at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, Al Murr noted that AI is already transforming how holidays are planned and sold by allowing companies to process vast amounts of data and offer personalized products more rapidly.
One specific application of AI at dnata involves the management of hotel contracts. Previously, processing these contracts manually could take months; however, the implementation of AI has transitioned this process to near real-time.
Beyond technology, Al Murr highlighted evolving preferences among travelers, specifically noting the rising popularity of skiing, cruises, and niche experiences among Gen Z. dnata, a subsidiary of the Emirates Group, continues to monitor growth opportunities in emerging markets across Africa, the Indian subcontinent, and Eastern Europe while managing operations in 162 cities worldwide.
