dnata invests AED 175 million in UAE ground equipment modernization
dnata has announced an investment of AED 175 million (approximately EUR 42.4 million) to modernize its ground support equipment (GSE) fleet in the UAE. Starting in early 2026, the company will procure over 340 new assets to support growth at Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC).
The investment focuses on safety and operational resilience, featuring new aircraft loaders with improved working-at-height systems and AI-enabled detection cameras to identify hazards. The company is also expanding its pushback and towing fleet and exploring advanced technologies such as automated aircraft docking systems and 3D printing for component production.
In addition to fleet modernization, dnata is trialing autonomous technology at Dubai International Airport to assist ‘people of determination’ (passengers with disabilities). This initiative aims to improve the airport journey through technological collaboration and enhanced staff training to manage increasing passenger volumes.
