DNC Chairman Ken Martin calls for increased fundraising ahead of midterms

Democratic National Committee Chairman Ken Martin has called for increased fundraising efforts during a summer executive committee meeting. Martin emphasized the need for more resources in the months leading up to the November midterm elections, noting that despite the DNC raising record amounts of money in its 198-year history, the organization remains at a financial disadvantage.

Martin stated that every major Democratic committee—including the DCCC, DSCC, Democratic Governors Association, and the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee—has been outperformed in fundraising by their Republican counterparts. He attributed the Republican advantage to the current administration and a White House that he claims is filling its war chest through corporate interests.

Federal Election Commission filings show that the super PAC MAGA Inc., associated with President Donald Trump, holds a $400 million war chest. In comparison, the Republican National Committee reported approximately $129 million at the end of June, while the National Republican Senatorial Committee held $56 million and the National Republican Congressional Committee held nearly $93 million.
