Dănceni lake remains: Police fail to identify two victims

Police in Moldova are still working to identify two women whose human remains were discovered in a lake in Dănceni over a month ago. Investigators are currently awaiting forensic results to establish the identities of the victims.

The remains, which were found in bags or nets weighted with bricks, belong to two females. Preliminary estimates suggest one victim was between 20 and 30 years old, while the other was between 60 and 70 years old. Authorities are investigating the possibility that the two women were related.

Identification efforts have been complicated by the fact that not all body parts were recovered. Police believe the deaths may have occurred approximately two months prior to the discovery. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances of the deaths and how the remains ended up in the lake. Authorities have requested that citizens report any missing persons from the last two months to assist with the investigation.
