DNIT warns of scams involving fraudulent sale of milling material

The National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT) has issued an alert regarding scam attempts in Acre involving the fraudulent sale of milling material. Scammers are impersonating DNIT officials and illicitly using the agency’s visual identity and the images of its employees to advertise the sale of this material.

DNIT clarified that milled material is a public asset. Its distribution is only authorized through official procedures following formal requests from federal, state, or municipal entities. No DNIT official or manager is authorized to sell this material, nor does the agency accept payments for material or freight through informal negotiations.

The agency advises the public not to make payments, share personal or banking data, or engage in such negotiations. Suspected incidents should be reported to the police and the DNIT Ombudsman via the Fala.BR portal. Under Brazilian law, these actions may be characterized as electronic fraud.
