Do Duc Duc - Me Tri road project resumes after 10-year delay
The 264 billion VND Do Duc Duc - Me Tri road project in Hanoi has resumed construction after a decade of delays. The project, which spans over 800 meters, originally broke ground in 2014 but faced long-term stagnation due to site clearance issues, leaving the road in a fragmented and unfinished state.
As construction restarts, contractors have installed barriers to prepare the site, leading to significant traffic disruptions. During morning rush hours, commuters have faced congestion and confusion due to new traffic diversion plans. The area is currently characterized by uneven road surfaces, potholes, and construction debris, which have been further complicated by recent heavy rainfall.
Local authorities aim to complete the project by December. Once finished, the road is expected to serve as a vital connection between major routes in the western part of the capital.
