Duy Mạnh travels to US for knee injury surgery

Vietnamese defender Đỗ Duy Mạnh and his wife, Nguyễn Quỳnh Anh, have arrived in the United States to undergo surgery for a knee injury. The move is intended to address ongoing health issues and protect the player's professional career.

Hanoi FC has facilitated the trip, coordinating with medical facilities and doctors to establish a specific treatment plan. Upon arrival, Duy Mạnh underwent comprehensive medical examinations and imaging to assess the extent of his meniscus damage before finalizing the surgical approach.

The recovery process, including surgery and rehabilitation, is expected to take between six months and one year. Consequently, Duy Mạnh will miss the first half of the 2026/27 V. League season. His absence is also noted as a significant loss for the Vietnam national team under coach Kim Sang-sik ahead of upcoming competitions such as the FIFA ASEAN Cup and Asian Cup qualifiers.
