Doña Carlota homicide hearing suspended in State of Mexico
The intermediate hearing for the case involving Doña Carlota and her two children has been suspended for the second time in August. The defendants face charges of homicide and attempted homicide following a property dispute in April 2025.
According to Arturo Santana, the son of Doña Carlota, the postponement occurred because the opposing party's private defense failed to appear. Additionally, a representative from the State of Mexico Attorney General's Office (FGJEM) was absent from the proceedings in Chalco.
The judge has ordered the hearing to resume on September 1. The court also ruled that if the private defense is absent again, a public legal advisor will be appointed to represent the victim, who is currently held in the Texcoco prison on charges of theft and dispossession.
