Doğanlı village gains attention for symmetric settlement

Doğanlı village, located in the Doski region of Yüksekova, Hakkari, has gained attention for its highly organized and symmetric settlement pattern. The village consists of 220 households with a population exceeding 2,000 people.

Built on a plain north of Kamışlı village, the settlement was designed to maximize land efficiency and maintain strong kinship ties. Because all residents are relatives, homes and gardens were constructed in a sequential and symmetrical layout. Village Headman Yasin Atay noted that this orderly structure has been maintained for 24 years, serving as a model of harmony and aesthetic planning compared to the zoning challenges faced in the district center.
