Dobric Monastery to Host Large August Festival for Dormition of the Mother of God

The Dobric Monastery will celebrate its patronal feast, the Dormition of the Mother of God, on 14–15 August 2026. Organisers expect thousands of believers and have scheduled a full liturgical program, including Vespers, the Paraklesis, and the Prothesis. Prelate Samuel Bistrițeanul, Episcopal‑Vicar of the Vad, Feleac and Cluj Archdiocese, will preside alongside a choir of priests and deacons, with theological talks by Prof. Dr. Stelian Tofană and Prof. Dr. Liviu Vidican‑Manci.

In Botoșani County, the parish of "Adormirea Maicii Domnului" in Dolina, Leorda commune, will hold the consecration of its restored church on 9 August 2026. After extensive structural repairs, a new copper‑covered roof, and new liturgical furnishings, the ceremony will be led by Prelate Nichifor Botoșăneanul, Episcopal‑Vicar of the Iași Archdiocese, together with local clergy. Parish priest Claudiu Ioan Haras invites the faithful to attend the special liturgy and the opportunity to walk through the Holy Altar.
