Dobrich hosts ‘Bread Way’ festival celebrating Bulgarian traditions

The ‘Bread Way’ festival has commenced in Dobrich, Bulgaria, running from September 25 to 27. The event celebrates bread as a symbol of tradition and memory in the Dobrudzha region through two festival locations, including St. Georgi Park and the central pedestrian boulevard.

The program features live music, culinary demonstrations, a farmer's market, and workshops for all ages. Musical performances include Maria Ilieva, MONA, and B.T.R. The Bread Museum is hosting an interactive exhibition of 30 ritual breads and is organizing an attempt for a Balkan record: ‘The most children making traditional ritual breads together.’

Additionally, a three-day workshop titled ‘The Future of Bread’ led by influencer Vanya Grozeva will explore modern nutritional trends, including gluten-free and high-protein options, alongside traditional Bulgarian products like dobruzhanki and banitsa. Chef Jordan Krastev, known as HugTheChef, is also a featured guest.
