Doc Friuli to be published in Italy's Official Gazette

The technical revision of the Doc Friuli wine disciplinare has been completed and the new text is being sent to the Gazzetta Ufficiale for publication. Regional assessor Stefano Zannier announced the milestone at the Assoenologi Friuli Venezia Giulia pre‑harvest meeting, emphasizing that the updated disciplinare is a substantially new framework designed to support the entire regional wine sector.

Zannier highlighted the challenges posed by an advancing climate, an earlier growing season, and growing consumer interest in low‑alcohol and dealcoholised wines. He urged producers to adopt a pragmatic approach, noting that while some will pursue these market opportunities, others will continue to focus on traditional wine styles.
