Doc Rivers to be inducted into Basketball Hall of Fame

Doc Rivers is set to be formally inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts. Reflecting on the honor, Rivers noted that his induction speech will focus on the coaches, parents, and players who contributed to his success, stating, “You realize it has nothing to do with you in a very good way.”

Rivers concludes a coaching career that includes 1,194 regular-season victories, ranking him sixth in NBA history. His career highlights include winning a championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008, playing 13 seasons as an All-Star, and coaching 114 playoff games. Following his retirement from coaching, Rivers intends to spend time with his family and may return to the industry as a broadcaster.
