DOCanarias presents premieres of Maite Alberdi and Bea Wangondu films

The DOCanarias International Documentary Film Festival is presenting the Spanish premieres of two films in the Sala Timanfaya in Puerto de la Cruz.

Maite Alberdi’s ‘Un hijo propio’ explores a social scandal involving a woman who fakes a pregnancy due to societal pressure regarding motherhood. The film provides an intimate look at the consequences of this deception on family and social ties.

Additionally, the festival is screening ‘Kikuyu Land’ by Bea Wangondu and Andrew H. Brown. This film investigates the colonial legacy and its impact on tea production in Kenya. Both films are part of the festival’s international feature film competition.
