Docent detective series returns for third season on Czech television

The third season of the popular Czech detective series ‘Docent’ is set to premiere on Česká televize (ČT1) on Sunday, September 6, at 20:10. Directed by Jiří Strach, the series continues to follow the investigations of the Prague homicide unit.

The new season features Ivan Trojan as Docent Stehlík, Ondřej Vetchý as Captain Šera, and Tereza Ramba as Investigator Fousová. The plot revolves around two complex criminal cases: the disappearance of an elderly married couple and the kidnapping of a businessman. These investigations are noted to have connections reaching abroad.

The scripts are written by Josef Mareš, a former head of the Prague homicide department, which provides the series with high levels of authenticity regarding police procedures and criminal psychology. The series is recognized for balancing intricate crime plots with the evolving interpersonal relationships of the investigative team.
