DocMorris accounts seized over unpaid German fines

A court in Limburg, Netherlands, has upheld the seizure of accounts belonging to the online pharmacy DocMorris. The action follows the company's failure to pay multiple administrative fines imposed by German courts.

The dispute originated in 2020 when the Landgericht Stuttgart prohibited DocMorris from using certain price advertisements. Despite subsequent court rulings, the company continued the disputed advertising practices, leading to several fines: 50,000 euros in July 2024, 60,000 euros in April 2025, and over 100,000 euros in October 2025.

Because DocMorris is headquartered in Heerlen, Netherlands, the Apothekerkammer Nordrhein sought to enforce the German penalties across the border. Legal representatives for the pharmacy chamber suggest that millions of euros in fines have been lost to the German state over recent years due to non-payment. DocMorris has stated that the matter involves only six-figure sums and has no impact on its operational stability, but the company intends to appeal the decision.
