A report by France 2 program ‘Envoyé spécial’ has provided a rare look into the operations of Doctolib, a major digital health platform. The company serves approximately 90 million patients and 500,000 healthcare professionals across Europe, facilitating about 22 million appointments per month.
The investigation examines the company’s market influence and its role as a digital intermediary in the healthcare sector. A key focus of the report is the management of sensitive health data. In accordance with requirements from the French data protection authority, CNIL, Doctolib states that patient data is stored in France and Germany using certified providers and protected through encryption and strict access protocols.
