Doctor arrested in Indonesia for alleged child abuse

A doctor identified by the initials IS has been arrested by the West Java Regional Police following allegations of sexually abusing his 3.5-year-old daughter. The suspect was apprehended in the early hours of Wednesday at an apartment in Bekasi after allegedly fleeing with the victim.

The case came to light after the victim's mother, MS, noticed unusual behavior in her child. Medical examinations conducted in early 2026 revealed that the toddler had contracted gonorrhea, a sexually transmitted infection. Further medical assessments at RSIA Parahyangan identified serious inflammation and physical injuries.

Investigations suggest the abuse occurred multiple times at both a residence in Bandung and a hotel. The mother reported the matter to the West Java Regional Police's Directorate of Protection of Women and Children after the suspect reportedly took the child without her consent in late September 2026. The suspect is currently undergoing examination at the West Java Regional Police Headquarters.
